Why Did I Write the Elements Series?
The Background
In the past twenty years, certain fantastical elements became mainstream and, in my opinion, overused. A lot of us got sick of seeing vampires and zombies. There are some fantastic stories regarding those creatures, don't get me wrong, but I wanted something new. Something adventurous that transported the reader to a vivid new world waiting to be explored. A universe with the same depth potential as some of the most popular modern titles. Thus, the Elements series was born.
Another goal I wanted when writing was to have a story that a family (I'd rate the story PG-13, but you can decide for yourself) could enjoy without worrying an adult scene would randomly pop up. I wanted to create a fantasy story that a wide array of people, cultures, and beliefs could dive into.
A Whisper of Wind is action packed and that is not an understatement. I loved reading this amazing book and could not put it down. I didn't realize when I started reading the first page just how much I would enjoy it. I can't wait until the next book is released.
This book is action and suspense packed from the first page till the last page. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire read. There are so many twists and turns that I never knew what was going to happen next. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys a sci-fi/fantasy mixed book.

So... Who's Kinara?
Kinara is an Inferno Guardian in the United Guardian Forces. She was assigned to the Seeker Corps thanks to her unique ability to sharpen her senses. Seekers help the Guardian Investigation Task Force (GITF) on occasion with high-profile cases or anything they need a well-trained pair of eyes for (i.e., bomb threats, search and rescue, etc.). They also can be assigned to a myriad of other roles within the Forces.
Kinara lost her parents in a tragic accident at a tender age while they were out on a mission. From then on, she was raised by her uncle, Colonel Kehndrig Voelker. Over time her skills grew. She excelled in the academy and graduated at the top of her class.
Fresh out of school, she met Alator, a young GITF Lieutenant. They became close, and much to Kinara's delight, Alator proposed. With her Fiance at her side, and her uncle's blessing, she is ready to tackle anything thrown at her... at least, that's what she thought.

This is an awesome story line! The battles make sense, without being strung out. The relationships are believable, while also having their own twists. I was always surprised by each twist and the timing on things. It was also nice to have a few times that actually were relaxing. I like the feeling of growing with the characters as they learned new things also, like the elements side of things was slowly coming together in my head at the same time as they learned about it. The book certainly had me looking forward to the time I would be able to read the next chapter, and has me excited for the next book!
